When we first heard news that Veronique Branquinho was shuttering her line, not only did we faithfully wear her designs in the office for the next week, but we were sad that a talented designer known for the quality of her wares would fall prey to the economy’s woes. Fast forward a few months and we’re happy to hear that Branquinho is doing just fine at the house of Delvaux. The Belgian designer signed on as Creative Director of the Brussels-based luxury leather goods company in March, and now for Fall, the heritage label (with the title of “most ancient leather goods luxury house” no less) will debut three of Branquinho’s designs.

While we’ll have to wait for Spring 2010 until Branquinho takes Delvaux’s design reins entirely, we’re already seeing the potential of Branquinho’s clean and smart design coupled with the luxury leather company’s production know-how in this Fall/Winter 2009 Message Ambigu bag.
