One down, three to go. For his first of three shows for New York Fashion Week, designer Max Azria opted for bold colors and dark prints for his BCBG Max Azria line’s Spring Summer 2010 show. The collection consisted entirely of dresses with a few stunners using sheer mesh and cut-outs to create new shapes and lines. This wasn’t your usual summer collection either, with prints blocked with black piecing and an overall surprisingly dark palette. There were also some (Herve Leger-inspired?) bandage mini-dresses in bold prints that made us want to hit the gym and get a tan and Azria did stay with the 80s shoulders trend. But the show-stoppers were the evening wear, including a black floor-length number with detailing at the shoulder and a dove grey gown with a slim racerback and bejeweled in the front that are sure to crop up on the latest Hollywood darlings.
